Biological Evolution is a sub-field of biology concerned with the origin and descent of species, as well as their change, multiplication, and diversity over time. [Adapted from Wikipedia]

In my considered opinion, the theories of evolution are among the most powerful realizations of the human mind, perhaps eclipsing even relatively and quantum mechanics. The principles of evolution are not limited to living things, but extended to the function of the universe as well. We are only beginning to appreciate its all-encompassing power as a means for studying and understanding ... well ... everything. [David L Heiserman]

But, alas, the topic of evolution presented here is limited to living things we find on our little blue planet.
